Through conferences, seminars and workshops: Realizing that IT deployment is a newly emerging phenomenon in Nigeria, a major strategy of awakening the psyche of Nigerians to the appreciation and usage of emerging technologies is through the organization of sectoral workshops and conferences. Such Workshops/Conferences amongst others include:

-National workshop for organizations involved in IT training in Nigeria held in Abuja on 3rd June, 2002.
-IT workshop for Armed forces and other security arms of government, July 25, 2002 .
-IT forum for permanent secretaries, Director-Generals and Directors in the Federal public service, September 19 and
   24, 2002.
-Consultative forum for IT stakeholders in Nigeria
-e-Nigeria conference: Annual international IT conference to leverage on current development in IT industry for our
  social –economic development in Nigeria.
-International workshop on open source software and web Technologies.
-e-Government stakeholders’ forum, March 2004 to promote IT diffusion, utilization and applications within and across
   sectors.

Deliverables:

• Promoting IT diffusion, utilization and applications within and across all sectors of the national economy
• Promoting the use of IT by all employees in the public sector in order to be globally competitive especially the key
  officers who can influence public opinion.
• Encouraging the performing arts and other similar media sources to integrate IT popularization into their programmes.
• Using the electronic and print media extensively for the popularization of IT.
• Encouraging the development of simple IT tools designed for local language interactions.
• Drawing on the intrinsic ability of women to propagate positive values within the society at large as an instrument for
  IT diffusion and promotion.
